VictoriaTownSquare > Barbara Doerring of Chaska, is an aunt to New York Times best selling author Greg Mortenson. The Chaska and Chanhassen libraries selected his book “Three Cups of Tea” for the February Community Reads program.  Doerring distributed information about his book and his nonprofit, the Central Asia Institute, which builds schools for children in Afghanistan and Pakistan. His book “Three Cups of Tea” describes his efforts.
VictoriaTownSquare > Charlie Title provided a touch of Austrian authenticity with his Alpine horn and lederhosen costume at Saturday’s District 112 Hooked on Books event at Chaska High School. Title along with others from Chaska Valley Family Theatre were on hand to promote their upcoming production of “The Sound of Music.”
VictoriaTownSquare > Southwest Newspapers was one of the community sponsors of Hooked on Books.

VictoriaTownSquare > Youth singers portray the  “Childrens’ Choir” in the Chaska Valley Family Theatre’s musical “The Sound of Music.” Vocal director Ali Smith accompanied them on the electric piano.
